ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,715,852, issued on Aug. 25, was assigned to EmpathBio Inc. (New York).

"Preparation of optically active enantiomers of piperonyl amines by resolution of the diastereomeric salts" was invented by Luigi Anzalone (Hull, Mass.), Nicholas Morra (Ontario, Canada) and Majed Fawaz (Foxborough, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided herein is a process for resolving the (S)- and (R)-enantiomers of a compound of Formula (I), wherein L, R1, and R2 are defined herein."

The patent was filed on Sept. 16, 2022, under Application No. 17/946,406.
