ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,686,770, issued on July 21, was assigned to ELKEM SILICONES FRANCE SAS (Saint-Fons, France).

"Silicone composition for elastomer foam" was invented by David Mariot (Lyons, France), Aurelie Pelle (St Quentin Fallavier, France), Julie Dubois (Marsolan, France) and Estelle Dervieux-Gobet (Ampuis, France).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Organopolysiloxane compositions are described that are crosslinkable by polyaddition and that can produce a silicone elastomer foam (or "silicone foam") having a low density, i.e. a density of less than 0.20 g/cm3, and having good mechanical properties and a good fire resistance."
