According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new cultivar of Hebe plant named 'Maya' that is characterized by its consistently healthy plants with a low susceptibility to foliage diseases, its compact plant habit, its floriferous blooming habit and a long blooming period, its flowers that are bright violet in color, its self-cleaning flowers, and its bright green colored foliage."
