ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,662,661, issued on June 23, was assigned to DSM IP ASSETS B.V. (Heerlen, Netherlands).

"Acetyl-transferases" was invented by Peter Louis Houston (Boston), Rene Marcel De Jong (Amsterdam), Valmik Kanubhai Vyas (Winchester, Mass.), Rene Verwaal (Nootdorp, Netherlands), Jenna McMahon (Tewksbury, Mass.) and Anna Symbor-Nagrabska (Reading, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention is related to production of retinyl acetate generated via enzymatic conversion of retinol, said process including the use of modified enzymes with improved activity."
