ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,629,652, issued on May 19, was assigned to Drexel University (Philadelphia) and University of Brighton (Brighton, Great Britain).
"MXene sorbent for removal of small molecules from dialysate" was invented by Yury Gogotsi (Warminster, Pa.), Sergey Mikhalovsky (Brighton, Great Britain), Susan R Sandeman (Brighton, Great Britain), Babak Anasori (Fisher, Ind.) and Fayan Meng (Philadelphia).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure is directed to methods for scrubbing low levels of urea from aqueous solutions such as a dialysate from dialysis, and including blood and blood products, and devices capable of employing these methods."
