ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,576,619, issued on March 17, was assigned to Double Double D LLC (Raleigh, N.C.).

"Layered containment features" was invented by Daniel G. Doster (Waynesville, Ohio) and Michael A. DeBrosse (Dayton, Ohio).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A degradable containment includes an outer structural layer constructed of a pulp material, a central carrier layer constructed of a biopolymer, and an interior nanomaterial layer constructed of a nanomaterial."

The patent was filed on Sept. 23, 2022, under Application No. 17/951,920.
