US Patent Issued to DelStar Technologies on June 23 for "Water swellable semi-conductive tape" (British Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,665,106, issued on June 23, was assigned to DelStar Technologies Inc. (Alpharetta, Ga.).

"Water swellable semi-conductive tape" was invented by Rebecca Wilson (Stalybridge, Great Britain) and Geoffrey Henstock (Greater Manchester, Great Britain).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A water swellable semi-conductive material having a semi-conductive layer and a semi-conductive water swellable polymeric layer which is positioned on opposing surfaces of the semi-conductive layer is provided. The semi-conductive water swellable polymeric layer is composed of conductive particles dispersed within a crosslinked superabsorbent polymeric matrix."
