ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,685,626, issued on July 21, was assigned to Davol Inc. (Warwick, R.I.).
"Repositionable surgical anchors" was invented by Thomas Pine (Warren, R.I.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Embodiments related to surgical anchors are described. In some embodiments, a surgical anchor may include a selectively removable blocker which may prevent one or more barbs of the surgical anchor from engaging with adjacent tissue until the selectively removable blocker is removed."
The patent was filed on March 20, 2024, under Application No. 18/611,028.
