According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A tissue aperture closure device may include more than one suture deployed in multiple directions around a perimeter of a tissue aperture. The sutures may be pulled through a suture lock to tension the sutures and close the tissue aperture. The suture lock may be transitioned between a locked configuration and an unlocked configuration in which the tension of the sutures may be adjusted."
