ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,577,311, issued on March 17, was assigned to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Inc. (Boston).

"Chimeric antigen receptor factories and methods of use thereof" was invented by Wayne A. Marasco (Brookline, Mass.), Quan Karen Zhu (Southborough, Mass.), Yufei Wang (Brookline, Mass.) and Matthew Chang (Brookline, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "This invention is directed to chimeric antigen receptors and cells comprising the same, wherein the cells further secrete monoclonal antibodies locally at a tumor site."
