ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,624,111, issued on May 12, was assigned to CytoDyn Inc. (Vancouver, Wash.).

"Methods for treating metastatic colon cancer with leronlimab" was invented by Denis Burger (Vancouver, Wash.) and Scott Kelly (Vancouver, Wash.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure relates to the use of competitive inhibitors of the CCR5 receptor, such as the monoclonal antibody leronlimab, or binding fragments thereof, in the treatment or prevention of cancer."

The patent was filed on July 31, 2020, under Application No. 17/631,161.
