ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,599,449, issued on April 14, was assigned to Covidien LP (Mansfield, Mass.).
"Surgical robotic system with orientation setup device and method" was invented by Michael Baer (Munich).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A surgical robotic system includes: a plurality of movable carts oriented relative to the surgical table, each of which includes a robotic arm, and an orientation device for calculating an orientation angle of each robotic arm relative to the surgical table."
The patent was filed on Aug. 16, 2022, under Application No. 18/294,247.
