ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,687,930, issued on July 21, was assigned to Cirque Corp. (Sandy, Utah).

"Air flow dissipation opening of a haptic actuator" was invented by Paul Glad (Sandy, Utah) and Douglas Steck (Riverton, Utah).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An apparatus may include a substrate in a capacitance module, a first cavity in the substrate, a first housing in the cavity, a piezoelectric haptic actuator in the housing, and a dissipation opening defined in the housing that increases air flow from the first cavity to the outside of the apparatus."

The patent was filed on Oct. 31, 2022, under Application No. 17/977,318.
