US Patent Issued to CHUNK FOODS on Sept. 22 for "Protein-based meat analogs" (Israeli Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 24 -- United States Patent no. 12,740,578, issued on Sept. 22, was assigned to CHUNK FOODS INC. (New York).

"Protein-based meat analogs" was invented by Amos Golan (Tel Aviv, Israel), Itay Uri (Kfar Sirkin, Israel) and Fabio Zon (Tel-Aviv, Israel).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Fermented meat analogs and methods of producing such meat analogs, the meat analogs comprising protein-containing strands, and a mycelium of a fermenting microorganism, wherein the protein-containing strands are held together or bound together by the mycelium to form the fermented meat analog."

The patent was filed on Sept. 19, 2024, under Application No. 18/890,312.
