ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 24 -- United States Patent no. 12,559,692, issued on Feb. 24, was assigned to Chevron Singapore Pte. Ltd. (Singapore) and Chevron Belgium BV (Ghent, Belgium).
"Low sulfur marine fuel compositions" was invented by Nayab Karimi (Singapore), Monique B. Vermeire (Lochristi, Belgium) and Boon Hui Tan (Singapore).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A marine bunker fuel composition is disclosed. The composition is compliant with fuel standard ISO 8217-2017 Table 2 and contains at least 70 vol % of a marine fuel oil blendstock and from 1 vol % to 30 vol % of a fatty acid alkyl ester."
The patent was filed on Sept. 24, 2021, under Application No. 18/694,523.
