ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,577,298, issued on March 17, was assigned to CEPHALON LLC (West Chester, Pa.).

"Anti-IL-5 antibodies" was invented by Mark Terence Liddament (Haberfield, Australia), Anthony Doyle (Macquarie Park, Australia), Adam Clarke (Macquarie Park, Australia), David Jose Simon Laine (Gladesville, Australia) and Bridget Ann Cooksey (Macquarie Park, Australia).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed herein are fully human antibody molecules that immunospecifically bind to human IL-5. The antibody molecules can bind to human IL-5 with an equilibrium affinity constant (KD) of at least about 40 pM as determined by surface plasmon resonance."
