ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,606,805, issued on April 21, was assigned to CASE WESTERN RESERVE UNIVERSITY (Cleveland).

"Tymovirus virus and virus-like particles as nanocarriers for imaging and therapeutic agents" was invented by Nicole F. Steinmetz (San Diego), Hema Masarapu (Cleveland) and He Hu (Cleveland).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of targeting cancer tissue in a subject includes administering to the subject a plurality of functionalized Tymovirus virus or virus-like particles loaded with or conjugated to an imaging agent, a therapeutic agent or a targeting agent."

The patent was filed on Aug. 29, 2023, under Application No. 18/239,463.
