US Patent Issued to Cardiac Pacemakers on Sept. 29 for "PCBA X-ray ID tag" (Irish Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,746,398, issued on Sept. 29, was assigned to Cardiac Pacemakers Inc. (St. Paul, Minn.).

"PCBA X-ray ID tag" was invented by James Michael English (Cahir, Ireland).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An implantable medical device includes a metal case having a hermetic seal; and an identification (ID) tag arranged within the sealed metal case, wherein the ID tag is readable by X-raying the device."

The patent was filed on Jan. 10, 2024, under Application No. 18/409,296.
