ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,605,597, issued on April 21, was assigned to Callaway Golf Co. (Carlsbad, Calif.).
"Adhesive stress reduction feature of a bonded joint in a golf club head" was invented by Dominic LeBlanc (Carlsbad, Calif.) and Brandon DeMille (Carlsbad, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A golf club head having a stress reducing feature at a composite joint is disclosed herein. The stress reducing feature is preferably cylindrical with a circular groove that has a radius R_Groove that ranges between 0.005 inch and 0.050 inch. An adhesive thickness along the front of a joint t_gap_front preferably ranges between 0.002 inch and 0.060 inch."
