ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 14 -- United States Patent no. 12,682,215, issued on July 14, was assigned to California Institute of Technology (Pasadena, Calif.).

"Flexible machine learning" was invented by Matthew W. Thomson (Pasadena, Calif.) and Guruprasad Raghavan (Pasadena, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed herein include systems, devices, and methods for flexible machine learning by traversing functionally invariant paths in weight space."
