US Patent Issued to Brumate on May 12 for "Keyed straw" (Colorado Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,622,537, issued on May 12, was assigned to Brumate LLC (Denver).

"Keyed straw" was invented by Dylan M. Jacob (Denver) and Jordan Westerberg (Denver).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A lid structure for a beverage system is provided that includes a straw assembly. The straw assembly includes structural features for secure and guided engagement with the lid structure. The straw assembly may feature a straw sleeve with a tab that interfaces with a connection port on the lid structure."

The patent was filed on Aug. 13, 2025, under Application No. 19/299,200.
