ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,624,473, issued on May 12, was assigned to BRANDEIS UNIVERSITY (Waltham, Mass.) and PRINCETON UNIVERSITY (Princeton, N.J.).

"DNA-programmed photonic crystal fabrication processes" was invented by William Benjamin Rogers (Watertown, Mass.), Alexander Hensley (Waltham, Mass.) and William M. Jacobs (New York).
