ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,685,581, issued on July 21, was assigned to Boston Scientific Scimed Inc. (Maple Grove, Minn.).

"Bipolar needle with adjustable electrode for geometrically controlled thermal ablation of biological tissue" was invented by Ramin N. Tehrani (Marlborough, Mass.), Christopher A. Benning (Hopkinton, Mass.) and George Wilfred Duval (Sudbury, Mass.).
