ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 24 -- United States Patent no. 12,584,121, issued on March 24, was assigned to BONUMOSE INC. (Charlottesville, Va.).
"Enzymatic production of hexoses" was invented by Daniel Joseph Wichelecki (Charlottesville, Va.) and Edwin O. Rogers (Charlottesville, Va.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed herein are methods of producing hexoses from saccharides by enzymatic processes. The methods utilize fructose 6-phosphate and at least one enzymatic step to convert it to a hexose."
The patent was filed on April 22, 2024, under Application No. 18/641,530.
