ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,578,267, issued on March 17, was assigned to BL TECHNOLOGIES INC. (Minnetonka, Minn.).

"Carbon measurements in aqueous samples using oxidation at elevated temperatures and pressures created by resistive heating" was invented by Paul P. Kosenka (Denver) and Paulus J. Vanhoudt (Erie, Colo.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Apparatus and methods for measuring the concentrations of organic and inorganic carbon, or of other materials in aqueous samples are described, having a reactor that is resistively heated by passing an electric current through the reactor."

The patent was filed on Dec. 11, 2019, under Application No. 17/784,602.
