ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,663,423, issued on June 23, was assigned to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Inc. (Boston).

"Biomarkers for placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) disorders" was invented by Scott Shainker (Boston), Towia Libermann (Boston) and S. Ananth Karumanchi (Boston).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Methods and compositions for detecting or determining a subject's risk of developing placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) are provided.
