ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,779,003, issued on Nov. 3, was assigned to Begapinol Holding GmbH (Berchtesgaden, Germany).
"Granulation of topinambur" was invented by Ingo Saar (Niederkassel, Germany) and Marcus Heidenreich (Bad Reichenhall, Germany).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A process for producing a granulate from a fermented topinambur syrup is disclosed. The product of the process is a free flowable granulate with a high content of carbohydrates such as inulin and fructooligosaccharides. Useful applications of this granulate are disclosed likewise."
