ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,667,699, issued on June 30, was assigned to BEDAL NV (Diepenbeek, Belgium).

"Catheter fixation device" was invented by Alexander Van Damme (Zoersel, Belgium) and Simon Callaerts (Leuven, Belgium).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to means for fixating different sizes of catheters comprising a luer-lock, which are used in healthcare and in particular to means for fixating such catheters to a living creature."

The patent was filed on June 28, 2021, under Application No. 18/003,379.
