ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,662,066, issued on June 23, was assigned to Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (Munich).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A holding device for a vehicle includes at least one base plate configured to support an object, and a cavity formed in a body of the holding device. The holding device is configured to receive the base plate and to at least partially receive the object being supported by the base plate. The holding device is configured to alter a position of the base plate within the cavity depending on the object."
