ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,576,281, issued on March 17, was assigned to Bardy Technologies Inc. (Bellevue, Wash.).

"Defibrillator designed for high-reliability operation" was invented by Jason Felix (Vashon Island, Wash.), Gust H. Bardy (Carnation, Wash.) and Corey Bailey Williamson (Vashon, Wash.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A completely de-energizable defibrillator is provided, allowing the electrical components of the defibrillator to be electrically unbiased while the defibrillator is not in use.
