ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 26 -- United States Patent no. PP37,442, issued on May 26, was assigned to Ball Horticultural Co. (West Chicago, Ill.).

"Geranium plant named 'Balgerpur103'" was invented by Christa Kievit (Vessem, Netherlands).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new and distinct cultivar of Geranium plant named 'Balgerpur103', characterized by its dark purple-violet-colored flowers, dark, green-colored foliage, and vigorous, low-mounded growth habit, is disclosed."

The patent was filed on Oct. 12, 2025, under Application No. 19/356,152.
