ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,661,331, issued on June 23, was assigned to Atriva Therapeutics GmbH (Tuebingen, Germany).

"MEK inhibitors for the treatment of hantavirus infections" was invented by Oliver Planz (Dettingen an der Erms, Germany).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to MEK inhibitors that are capable of displaying one or more beneficial therapeutic effects. The MEK inhibitors can be used in the prevention and/or treatment of hantavirus infection."

The patent was filed on Oct. 7, 2020, under Application No. 17/767,186.
