ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 8 -- United States Patent no. 12,730,751, issued on Sept. 8, was assigned to Astera Labs Inc. (San Jose, Calif.).
"Metadata-caching integrated circuit device" was invented by Enrique Musoll (San Jose, Calif.), Subbarao Arumilli (Cupertino, Calif.) and Anh T. Tran (Elk Grove, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A memory control device implements split storage of user-data and metadata components of a compound write data word, outputting the user-data component via a memory control interface for storage within an external memory subsystem while separately storing the metadata component within a metadata cache implemented within the memory control device."
