ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 14 -- United States Patent no. 12,680,340, issued on July 14, was assigned to ASSA ABLOY Americas Residential Inc. (New Haven, Conn.).
"Rekeyable lock with small increments" was invented by Hanna Farag (Jurupa Valley, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A rekeyable lock cylinder with a cylinder body and a plug assembly. The lock cylinder includes a plurality of key followers and a corresponding plurality of racks disposed in the plug assembly. Disengaging the racks from the key followers allows rekeying of the lock cylinder."
The patent was filed on Aug. 21, 2024, under Application No. 18/810,795.
