US Patent Issued to ASICS on May 19 for "Shoes" (Japanese Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,628,912, issued on May 19, was assigned to ASICS Corp. (Kobe, Japan).

"Shoes" was invented by Chihaya Suzuki (Hyogo, Japan), Shingo Masumoto (Hyogo, Japan), Keita Ozawa (Hyogo, Japan), Hiroki Nakamura (Hyogo, Japan) and Keishi Kitamoto (Hyogo, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A shoe includes an upper that covers the instep of a foot. A hole that has a bottom and is recessed in the thickness direction of the upper is integrally formed in the upper. A bottom portion of the hole is one layer including at least two linear members that differ in stretchability."

The patent was filed on June 10, 2022, under Application No. 18/872,685.
