US Patent Issued to ASAHI GROUP FOODS, ASAHI GROUP HOLDINGS on Sept. 15 for "Composition for improving unpleasant taste caused by high-intensity sweetener" (Japanese Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,735,690, issued on Sept. 15, was assigned to ASAHI GROUP FOODS LTD. (Tokyo) and ASAHI GROUP HOLDINGS LTD. (Tokyo).

"Composition for improving unpleasant taste caused by high-intensity sweetener" was invented by Noboru Otsushi (Tokyo).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A composition for improving an unpleasant odor caused by a high-intensity sweetener, such as aspartame, sucrose, acesulfame potassium or stevia, includes an extract of yeast cell walls degraded by a cell wall lytic enzyme such that the degraded extract contains 50 mass % or more of carbohydrates to a dry mass of the degraded extract."
