ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 27 -- United States Patent no. 12,774,391, issued on Oct. 27, was assigned to Arkema Inc. (King of Prussia, Pa.).

"PVDF powder for reduced dispersion viscosity coatings" was invented by Takehiro Fukuyama (King of Prussia, Pa.) and Diane M. Vaessen (King of Prussia, Pa.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of reducing dispersion viscosity in a dispersion coating formulation is disclosed. The method comprises substituting a portion of the conventional PVDF in the formulation with a highly crystalline PVDF. The highly crystalline PVDF has a crystallinity 44% or greater (from X-ray diffraction). The highly crystalline PVDF imparts lower viscosity to the coating dispersion...
