US Patent Issued to Applied Medical Resources on June 23 for "Total mesorectal excision surgical simulator" (California Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,664,914, issued on June 23, was assigned to Applied Medical Resources Corp. (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.).

"Total mesorectal excision surgical simulator" was invented by Anysa Fernandez (Chino, Calif.) and Gregory Hofstetter (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A TME surgical simulator is provided. The TME surgical simulator includes a simulated tissue layers and simulated vasculature and/or organ structures. The simulated tissue surgical simulator is adapted for but not limited to laparoscopic and/or transanal TME surgical procedures."
