ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 24 -- United States Patent no. 12,585,903, issued on March 24, was assigned to Apple Inc. (Cupertino, Calif.).

"Proof of presence using machine-readable codes" was invented by Bennet Daniel Gnanarajan (Singapore) and Sachin Kapoor (San Jose, Calif.).
