ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 7 -- United States Patent no. 12,596,520, issued on April 7, was assigned to Apple Inc. (Cupertino, Calif.).

"Media controls user interface" was invented by Taylor G. Carrigan (San Francisco) and Patrick L. Coffman (San Francisco).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure generally relates to providing media playback controls to a user. In some embodiments, methods and user interfaces for displaying media playback controls are described."
