ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,649,907, issued on June 9, was assigned to Amgen Inc. (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) and Avantor Performance Materials LLC (Radnor, Pa.).

"Alternate detergents for viral inactivation" was invented by Gabriella Perell (Thousand Oaks, Calif.), Rosa Daneshvar (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) and Martina Kopp (Thousand Oaks, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Detergents for use to inactivate enveloped viruses, including detergents that are considered eco-friendly that can be used in biomanufacturing operations."
