US Patent Issued to American Lithium Energy on May 19 for "Rechargeable battery with internal current limiter and interrupter" (California Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,633,629, issued on May 19, was assigned to American Lithium Energy Corp. (Carlsbad, Calif.).

"Rechargeable battery with internal current limiter and interrupter" was invented by Jiang Fan (San Diego) and Dengguo Wu (San Diego).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A high energy density rechargeable (HEDR) battery employs a combined current limiter/current interrupter to prevent thermal runaway in the event of internal discharge or other disruption of the separator. The combined current limiter/current interrupter is interior to the battery."

The patent was filed on Jan. 23, 2024, under Application No. 18/420,180.
