"Illumination system and method for ophthalmic surgical microscopes" was invented by Zsolt Bor (San Clemente, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The disclosure provides an ophthalmic surgical microscope including an optical axis. The ophthalmic surgical microscope also includes at least one light source configured to provide illumination having a wavelength range between 575 nm and 625 nm. The ophthalmic surgical microscope further includes a control device for directing the illumination at an acute angle relative to the optical axis of the microscope."
