ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,668,721, issued on June 30, was assigned to AKTIEBOLAGET SKF (Gothenburg, Sweden).
"Friction film" was invented by Thilo von Schleinitz (Schweinfurt, Germany).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A friction film for increasing friction between two workpieces includes a deformable carrier material having a porous structure and friction-increasing particles on at least one side of the carrier material. The carrier material may be a polyethylene film or a liquifiable adhesive, and the friction-increasing particles may be titanium boride particles and/or diamond particles."
The patent was filed on Nov. 9, 2020, under Application No. 17/770,178.
