"Use of molybdenum compounds in driveline lubricants for reduced friction and copper corrosion" was invented by Kun Liu (Richmond, Va.), Yungwan Kwak (Glen Allen, Va.) and Joseph Remias (Glen Allen, Va.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A driveline lubricating composition for electric or hybrid-electric motor systems including a phosphorus antiwear additive and a multi-functional oil-soluble organolmolybdenum friction modifier to provide friction modification and low copper leaching."
The patent was filed on Aug. 23, 2024, under Application No. 18/813,751.
