US Patent Issued to Afton Chemical on April 21 for "Lubricating composition for vehicle transmissions" (American, Chinese Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,606,768, issued on April 21, was assigned to Afton Chemical Corp. (Richmond, Va.).

"Lubricating composition for vehicle transmissions" was invented by Arturo Carranza (Glen Allen, Va.), Wenjun Liu (Shanghai City, China) and Yue Hu (Glen Allen, Va.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A gear fluid composition for lubricating a driveline including a thiadiazole additive and select substituted aryl-phosphite compounds to achieve good antiwear and copper corrosion performance."

The patent was filed on Jan. 29, 2024, under Application No. 18/424,991.
