ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,580,097, issued on March 17, was assigned to AFC CABLE SYSTEMS INC. (New Bedford, Mass.).

"MC cable with tearable assembly tape" was invented by Paul Reis (New Bedford, Mass.) and David Campbell (Bristol, R.I.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed is an armored cable assembly including a core having a notched assembly tape about a plurality of conductors. A metal sheath surrounds the core."

The patent was filed on July 26, 2023, under Application No. 18/226,447.
