ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,642,328, issued on June 2, was assigned to adidas AG (Herzogenaurach, Germany).
"Clothing item comprising spider silk" was invented by Marco Kormann (Furth, Germany), James Tarrier (Nuremberg, Germany), Brian Hoying (Herzogenaurach, Germany) and Dai Jun (Guangzhou, China).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Described are spider silk articles of wear. The article of wear, which may be apparel or shoes, includes an inner surface, wherein the inner surface includes an area including spider silk. The spider silk of the article of wear may be arranged to contact the skin of a wearer when the article of wear is worn."
