According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A quick release mechanism for eyeglasses includes a connecting member for detachably disposing on one side of an eyeglass component of the eyeglasses, and a fastener member for positioning the connecting member on the eyeglass component and including an operating portion and a latching portion having two short sides.
