ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,633,203, issued on May 19.

"Smart tracking shoe" was invented by Shiela Orsot-Weatherman (Baton Rouge, La.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Smart tracking footwear for tracking and locating children and/or the elderly. The footwear has one or more solar charging strips together with GPS tracking and built in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities. The footwear may also include a removable sole portion that comprises an identifiable tread pattern."

The patent was filed on Aug. 19, 2024, under Application No. 18/808,792.
